NFL Round-Up Through Week 14: Local Teams

By NFL Correspondent D. Higgins

The Los Angeles Rams improved to 9-4 with a big 24-3 win over the New England Patriots. They are currently tied with the Seattle Seahawks for 1st place in the NFC West, although they hold the tiebreaker and are, more importantly, the #3 seed in the NFC, almost ready to clinch a playoff berth.
Remaining Schedule: vs NYJ on 12/20; at SEA on 12/27; vs ARI on 1/3

The Los Angeles Chargers continue to nose dive, sitting at a dismal 4-9, in last place in the AFC West, and have officially been eliminated from the postseason. They did come up with a last-second game-winning field goal in week 14 to defeat the Atlanta Falcons, 20-17–one of the few bright spots in an otherwise forgettable season.
Remaining Schedule: at LV on 12/17; vs DEN on 12/27; at KC on 1/3

The Las Vegas Raiders have been in a free fall since we last checked in. In Week 14, their defense was nowhere to be found, as they dropped a home game to the Indianapolis Colts 44-27. Since their big win over the Denver Broncos in Week 10, the Raiders have now lost 3 of 4 (and the one win was a last second miracle to beat the lowly New York Jets). The Raiders now sit at 7-6, and find themselves fighting for their playoff lives on the outside looking in–if the season ended today, they would be the #9 seed in the AFC and miss the playoffs altogether.
Remaining Schedule: vs LAC on 12/17; vs MIA on 12/26; at DEN 1/3
