Raiders player Maurice Hurst tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, October 06 and was placed on the Raiders Covid-19 reserve list. Hurst’s positive test was not related to one of the 10 players who had been fined a total of $165,000 by the NFL after failing to follow coronavirus protocols at a charity event on Monday, October 05.

In a statement from the NFL, they wrote, “Protocol violations that result in virus spread requiring adjustments to the schedule or otherwise impacting other teams will result in additional financial and competitive discipline, including the adjustment or loss of draft choices or even the forfeit of a game.”

Hurst (left: USA TODAY Sports) was removed from the Covid-19 list on October 20, and since that time, the Raiders have gone 2-1, moving into playoff position in the crowded AFC, sitting at 5-3 and in 2nd place in the AFC West.
